History of Eva Lake

Eva lake was aptly named after hiking adventurer Eva Hobbs who was one of the first people responsible for exploring Mount Revelstoke National Park and creating the popular trails we hike on nowadays. In 1909 Eva was part of the Revelstoke Mountaineering Club.

There is an old cabin at the head of Eva Lake that was constructed back in 1928 fand was used by the park warden. The cabin is one of the oldest buildings within the park and is considered a Federal Heritage Building. The cabin is open to and visitors can walk right in and check out the amazing view of the mountains that the warden must have witnessed on a daily basis.
