Drug charges are, quite certainly, some of the most serious and complicated criminal offenses in most states. The charges are from simple possession to the more grievous offenses of trafficking and distribution. It is very important to, therefore, have effective legal defense strategies based on the realization of the kind of harsh penalties that might be imposed if the conviction is achieved, like in cases resulting in long prison sentences or hefty fines. This paper considers some common strategies and defenses used in the court of law in cases involving possession, distribution, and trafficking of drugs.
