Albas Falls

Albas Falls is a must-visit attraction that adventure seekers should definitely add to their Shuswap bucket list. The falls are located in a fairly remote part of the region in between the picturesque villages of St. Ives and Seymour Arm, British Columbia. It is situated off of Seymour Arm Forest Service Road in the Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park. Once in the park visitors will be treated to lush green rainforest that is supported by the moist air given off by the immense waterfall system.

This large 440-foot pier is situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake and actually holds, not only the title of ‘Largest Wooden Wharf in British Columbia and Canada’ but holds the title of ‘Largest Wooden Wharf in North America’. The Salmon Arm Wharf was constructed in 1907, now over 100 years ago in order to deal with the large mudflats and swampy areas that exist at the head of Shuswap Lake.

Raven Trail, Salmon Arm

The Raven Trail is located in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, and features a flat 3 km trail with a wooden boardwalk and viewing platforms for bird watching. The area is one of the best bird-watching spots in the Shuswap region and is up there as one of the best in all of BC. The trail leads walkers through a migratory estuary and boasts a nice side trail that heads over a seasonal land bridge out to Christmas Island

Margaret Falls, Salmon Arm

Margaret Falls is an easily accessible waterfall that is situated in the small lakefront community known as Sunnybrae, British Columbia. The falls are considered to be part of the popular Herald Provincial Park, which lies on the shores of beautiful Shuswap Lake. To access the falls requires a short 20 minute (1.5 km) hike that is really more of a walk. it is very family-friendly as it can be enjoyed by almost anybody and is one of the few places where you could actually bring a wheelchair.

Start your scenic journey at the park’s bottom entrance and enjoy the stunning views that get better and better the closer you get to the summit. There are a few designated lookouts and viewpoints that have parking lots long with seating areas with benches where you can take in the views of Mount Begbie and the dramatic Monashee Mountain range

Moses Falls has an abundance of splendid beauty and is one of many wonderful attractions in the adventure-filled town of Revelstoke, British Columbia. It provides visitors with a lovely photogenic backdrop and a whimsical rainforest vibe that would be the perfect setting for wedding photography and with the short hike involved could be a definite possibility for newlyweds. That being said the trail is short but steep and can be mucky in some areas, so it is not recommended to wear your wedding attire.

Begbie Falls, Revelstoke

Begbie Falls is a popular waterfall attraction, beach, and camping area which is located in the picturesque mountain town of Revelstoke, British Columbia. The falls are situated at the exit of Begbie Creek where it flows out into Upper Arrow Lake which is part of the gorgeous Shuswap region of the province. Begbie Creek is the result of glacial runoff that comes from the 2,733 m (8,967 ft) behemoth of a mountain known as Mount Begbie, which contains a subarctic climate and carries snow on its peaks year-round.

Kay Falls, Sicamous

Kay Falls is a 187-foot waterfall that is a relatively unknown and underrated and is situated along the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Sicamous and Revelstoke, British Columbia. It is just a 2-minute hike from the highway and greets visitors with an impressive and powerful flow of water that rushes down from the dramatic Monashee Mountain range. Upon walking into the park you’ll be blown away by the sheer force of the falls as well as mesmerized by the splendid lush green environment that is a byproduct of the constant condensation created by them.

Three Valley Gap Heritage Ghost Town

3 Valley Gap Heritage Ghost Town is located at the head of Three Valley Lake in the spectacular Monashee Mountains of the Kootenays region of British Columbia. It is surrounded by steep mountain peaks that carry snow on their tops for much of the summer and gush with waterfalls from the spring runoff. With the European style, Chateau in the foreground, and the dramatic mountains, waterfalls, and lake in the background the area resembles something you would possibly see in Switzerland.
