Gladstone Provincial Park, British Columbia

To enjoy a wonderful vacation at Christina Lake, one of Canada’s warmest lakes, you must add Gladstone Provincial Park to your West Kootenay, BC itinerary. Neck and neck with Osoyoos Lake for warmest in the water in the country, Christina Lake holds its own and is said to lie on a fault line and have hot springs bubbling into it. This brings the water temperatures up to a steamy 22 Celsius (73 Fahrenheit) during the summer months.

Silver Beach Provincial Park

Located at the far northern reaches of Shuswap Lake, British Columbia is the incredibly beautiful destination known as Silver Beach Provincial Park. The park is situated in the remote village of Seymour Arm at the original site of a historic gold rush town that was formerly named Ogden City. Silver Beach features a large public campground boasting 35 total sites, some of which are beachfront on what is perhaps the Shuswap’s most beautiful beach.

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park lies on a picturesque rocky peninsula that extends out into the lake of the same name, Kalamalka, also known as “the lake of many colors”. It is situated about ten minutes outside of the city of Vernon, British Columbia, and is possibly the most popular and beautiful parks in the region. The park features around 978 hectares (2,420 acres) of arid Okanagan Valley wilderness that boasts gorgeous coves and beaches, along with scenic hiking trails looking out over the blue waters of the lake.
