To truly enjoy the beautiful Columbia River in all its glory, one must add Gyro Park Beach to their Kootenay itinerary. This idyllic riverfront park is situated in the small city of Trail, British Columbia, Canada. The park provides visitors with access to a stunning white sand beach and in the late summer, beachgoers can explore the rock pools left over by the river’s receding water levels. To top it off the park has a huge grassy area, walking trails, a skate park, a state-of-the-art jungle gym, and a spray park making it great for families and large gatherings like weddings. There is also a concession that offers food and drinks and operates from July - September.

Gyro Park is well-known among locals for its events such as the Music in the Park Series, the Annual Polar Bear Swim, the Smoke and Steel Car Show the Terry Fox Run, and Trail Silver City Days.

Gyro Park is intersected by the Trans Canada Trail, which is the longest hiking trail in the world.
