Rutherford Beach in British Columbia is by far one of the most beautiful rest stops along the Trans-Canada Highway and not only provides visitors a place to stretch out and use the washrooms but also provides a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Three Valley Lake. The beach is located in the small community of Three Valley Gap and is situated at the end of the lake opposite the European-style Three Valley Lake Chateau and the popular attraction known as the Heritage Ghost Town.
The water is brisk and chilly due to the steep snow-capped mountain peaks that perfectly embrace the lake on all sides. That being said the water is super clean and crystal clear making it a great place to cool off on a hot summer BC day.
