3 Valley Gap Heritage Ghost Town is located at the head of Three Valley Lake in the spectacular Monashee Mountains of the Shuswap region of British Columbia. It is surrounded by steep mountain peaks that carry snow on their tops for much of the summer and gush with waterfalls from the spring runoff. With the European style, Chateau in the foreground, and the dramatic mountains, waterfalls, and lake in the background the area resembles something you would possibly see in Switzerland.
The town itself is not a true ghost town in the sense that all of the town's current buildings have been disassembled from different parts of BC and brought to the Three Valley Gap to be rebuilt and used as tourist attractions. With that, it does take away some of the excitement knowing that mining pioneers never actually walked the streets of the town, but you can be assured that they did actually live in the houses and work in the stores and saloons. It is definitely still a very neat collection and well worth a visit.

History
This ghost town gives visitors a neat opportunity to relive the pioneer days of the wild west and how life might have been in the late 1800s. The infamous “gold rush” era brought thousands of pioneers to this part of Canada who were seeking fame and fortune and their chance to strike it rich. The gold rush eventually fizzled out and the ability to make a living off of mining gold was all but gone leaving behind entire towns that were once full of hopes and dreams and were now completely abandoned hence the name “ghost town”.
