About Sac-Ha, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Sac-Ha, which translates directly to “white water” in the local Mayan language is a beach club that is located along the shores of the incredibly gorgeous Bacalar Lagoon. Situated in the popular state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, the Bacalar Lagoon is an uncommercialized gem that has yet to be fully exploited by the mainstream, as some of its neighboring communities have. The lake boasts some unique living rock formations called stromatolites, which are some of the oldest living organisms on earth. The stromatolites are protected and must be treated with respect. That being said they are teeming with rare species of freshwater fish and provide the perfect snorkeling experience.

The Sac-Ha beach club gives visitors access to some of the most pristine and crystal clear water that the world has to offer. it features large palapas that can be rented for the day, as well as kayaks that can be rented by the hour. The club also has a small restaurant that serves simple snacks like nachos. Entry admission to the Sa-Ha costs $20 MXN ($1.25 CAD - $0.98 USD) for the entire day. Palapa rentals run at $100 MXN ($6.24 CAD - $4.91 USD) for the day and kayaks are $100 MXN per hour. If you wish to get your tan on, you can bring your own beach blanket or chairs and hang out on one of the many grass patches and avoid the palapa fees altogether.
