About Los Rapids, Quintana Roo

Los Rapidos is a unique area of the Bacalar Lagoon that could be described as a narrow channel between two sections of the lake. The narrowing of the water creates a rapid that pushes you through the channel at a nice meandering pace, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty. Aside from having incredibly blue water, the rapids are lined by ancient organisms called stromatolites as well as rare freshwater mangroves making it a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
