Playa de Oro, Puerto Vallarta

Playa de Oro (Gold Beach) is situated in the famous Hotel Zone of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It lies in the northern part of Puerto Vallarta and is one of the most popular beaches in the state of Jalisco.

The beach has 3 public access points and is approximately 3470 ft (1060 m) long. It isn’t centrally located and is 15 minutes, 6km (4 miles) from central Puerto Vallarta. On the north side of the beach is the harbor where massive cruise ships dock. There are also many resorts and hotels that line the beach all the way to the Pitillal River, which marks the southernmost part of Playa de Oro.

The beach was named after its golden-colored sand and the adjacent Hotel Playa de Oro. The beach is beautiful, and clean, and is a Blue Flag beach, which means that the city makes sure it is very clean for visitors to enjoy. It also means that it has clean waters, and more gentle waves compared to some of the city’s other beaches.

Playa de Oro features many different fun activities including a wide variety of water sports. The beach is great for swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, whale watching, and parasailing. Its location is perfect for bar hopping, clubbing and there are many places to do some shopping as well.
