With cerulean blue waters, near-perfect beaches, and boundless beauty, Kalamalka Lake has so much to offer and leaves little to be desired. This popular tourist destination lies in Canada’s only desert region called the Okanagan Valley and is one of British Columbia’s greatest treasures. It features plenty of great family-friendly attractions like beaches, provincial parks, and hiking trails.

Long Lake Beach is just one of many idyllic beaches that are situated along Kalamalka Lake’s scenic shores. The beach is located in the Coldstream area of Vernon on Tamarack Place. It boasts great views from up top and the beach itself is a pleasant combination of sand and small rocks. The park doesn’t have any washrooms and is still pretty undeveloped, though it does have a small parking lot and trash can.

Proctor Lake is a small alpine body of water that is located in the mountains that surround the city of Vernon, British Columbia. it sits high above the bottom of the Okanagan Valley and has an elevation of 1,365 meters. The lake is accessible by taking Silver Star Road from Vernon and is also around 5.1 miles from the town of Armstrong.

Kalamalka Lake is a truly memorizing sight to behold and is perhaps the most beautiful attraction in the entire Okanagan Valley and that is saying a lot when you’re talking about a region of British Columbia with seemingly infinite beauty. The lake is fair in size and stretches 16 km from the city of Vernon to the quaint beach town of Oyama. The lake boasts several excellent parks that feature larger beaches and many small cove beaches as well. Popular parks around the lake include Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, Cougar Canyon, Kekuli Bay Provincial Park, Kaloya Reginal Park, and Pioneer Park.

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park lies on a picturesque rocky peninsula that extends out into the lake of the same name, Kalamalka, also known as “the lake of many colors”. It is situated about ten minutes outside of the city of Vernon, British Columbia, and is possibly the most popular and beautiful parks in the region. The park features around 978 hectares (2,420 acres) of arid Okanagan Valley wilderness that boasts gorgeous coves and beaches, along with scenic hiking trails looking out over the blue waters of the lake.
