About Sicamous Lookout, Shuswap, British Columbia

The Sicamous Lookout is situated high in the mountains of the Shuswap region in British Columbia, Canada, and features sweeping views of the valley below which includes the town of Sicamous, Mara Lake, and Shuswap Lake. The Lookout was originally built as a platform for hang-gliders but found some popularity among locals as well as tourists who love the breathtaking views.

The Sicamous Lookout is not really a hike but more of a viewpoint that can be reached by vehicle but that’s not to say a person couldn’t park at the bottom and then hike all the way if they wanted.

How to Get There

Getting to the lookout is fairly straightforward and shouldn’t be too difficult, but the road is steep so exercise caution while traveling up the active logging road.

You will need to turn off the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Sicamous, BC, and head up the logging road for 11 kilometers until you see several clearings. It is here that you will find the hang glider’s ramp along with stunning panoramic views of the Shuswap in all of its glory.
