Kal Beach is just a short drive from the city of Vernon, British Columbia, and is probably the most popular tourist attraction in the area. It is located in the quiet Coldstream neighborhood of the Okanagan Valley and is situated at the head of the brilliantly blue body of water known as Kalamalka Lake.
Kal Beach faces Kelowna and provides excellent views of the arid Okanagan landscape that covers the hills surrounding the lake. It is approximately 300-meters long and contains nice soft sand, there are also large poplar trees that provide ample shade on a hot Okanagan day. There are picnic tables within the park as well as convenient washroom facilities, a large parking lot, a beach volleyball court, and a concession stand that serves food and drinks. The beach also boasts the largest pier in the area called the Rotary Pier which provides beachgoers with a place to do some fishing, swimming, or just some good old relaxing in the warm summer sun.

There are plenty of fun things to do at Kal Beach during the summer and it is a great place to spend a few days while visiting the Okanagan. Here are some of the activities you can take part in at Kal Beach.
Paddleboarding - Rent a SUP just across the road at Kalavida Surf Shop and enjoy the crystal clear blue water that reveals the lakes marine life.
Bike and Electric Ebike Rentals - Rent a bike from Kalavida Surf Shop and take the Okanagan Rail Trail that meanders along Kalamalka Lake providing excellent views and an abundance of gorgeous beaches.
Alexanders Pub - Take in the splendid views of the lake from this waterfront patio pub that has been a staple of the Vernon area for many years. The pub is also equipped with a liquor store to help you stay hydrated while enjoying a day at the lake.
Kalamalka General Store - A great place to grab a bite to eat while visiting the beach. The store has a ton of different food options and a patio area with a view to sit and eat your lunch.
