About the Okanagan Valley, BC

Sun-Oka Provincial Park is just one of many exquisite locales within the Okanagan Valley region. The Okanagan is well known for its abundant amount of sunshine and milder climate by Canadian standards. Though the valley is the only dry desert region in Canada it also has over 50 lakes which make it a splendid vacation destination. With the sunshine, mild climate, and ample water setters to the area realized early on that the Okanagan Valley resembled places like Southern California, as well as places around the Meditteranean Sea like Southern Italy, and that they could produce and harvest many of the same kind of fruits. Nowadays the Okanagan is packed full of world-class orchards, vineyards, and wineries and remains a top summertime vacation destination for many travelers.
