Hotel Villa Cantabria is a family-run stay that is located in the beautiful countryside of Mascota, Mexico. Mascota is situated high in the Sierra Madre mountains in the state of Jalisco and boasts a truly authentic Mexican experience. The town has a ton to offer in terms of attractions, and Hotel Villa Cantabria is a great place to make your home base while you explore the area.
The hotel is mid-range in terms of cost and amenities and could be considered a bit pricey for those on a budget, but the views are truly stunning and daily sunrises may be worth the extra cost. The hotel features an outdoor pool with tables and chairs, free WiFi, free parking, and a lovely patio area to lounge out and enjoy some coffee or cervazas (beers). There are three types of rooms to choose from at the hotel and those are regular rooms, superior double rooms, and master suites. The master suites are separate from the rest of the hotel and they offer guests kitchens and swanky outdoor tubs overlooking the stunning Mascota countryside.
With all that being said this hotel needs an updating and could use some extra attention to detail. In its heyday, this hotel would’ve been incredible, but the pool was murky and cobwebs were hanging in certain spots around the building. We can only hope that this hotel gets the attention it needs as it has a picture-perfect location and could be something really special once again.
