The Most Photographed Vista: Bighorn Ridge Guest House in Okanagan Falls
Welcome to the Bighorn Ridge Guest House, a soulful adult-oriented sanctuary perched in the hills of Okanagan Falls. It sits proudly on 11 natural acres of raw, untouched high-desert landscape, giving guests a front-row seat to what might be the most photographed vista in the Okanagan.
Adobe in the High Desert
The vibe at Bighorn Ridge hits a little different, and with its gorgeous Adobe-style architecture, the property looks as if it grew straight out of the surrounding sands. It’s a building style that is rare in Canada, but here in the Okanagan Valley’s dry hills, it seems to fit right in. The property isn’t short on pedigree, either, having been awarded both the Georgie Award and Tommie Award for its design and construction. It feels as though a slice of Santa Fe has been seamlessly transported into the landscape of the Okanagan Valley.
The two self-contained suites are simple, yet smart and absolutely ideal for a quiet, romantic getaway. It’s an adult-only vacation rental, meant to be a retreat where the only sounds you’ll hear are the birds and the wind through the sagebrush. As we all know, the desert doesn’t play nice, so to combat the extreme summer heat and the brisk mornings of spring and fall, the rooms are equipped with AC and heat. The idea at Bighorn Ridge is to unwind and unplug, but some guests will have no choice but to acknowledge the 21st century, and as such, the rooms are equipped with high-speed 5G internet service.

A Legacy of Desert and Dogs
Bighorn Ridge is far from soulless development and has gone above and beyond being just an average vacation rental. The owners, Carla and Roger, believe in preserving the local natural environment in pristine condition and are members of the South Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Program and the Land Conservancy of BC. This ensures that their 11 acres of Okanagan landscape stay wild and unbothered by commercialization.
Then there’s the unique history of Zakery the dog. He was the star of the movie Air Bud 2: Golden Receiver and will always be remembered as an important part of the property's past. It is because of Zackery’s memory that this stay is forever pet-friendly, and your “canine family members” will be lucky to walk in the steps of Hollywood royalty.

The Wine, The Water, and The View
A stay at Bighorn Ridge puts you right in the heart of an Okanagan Wine Route and literally within walking distance of several world-class wineries. With that, it’s no wonder that the property was named Business of the Year by the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce.
The Views: Sip on some local wine while you enjoy the incredible south-facing view of Vaseux Lake and McIntyre Bluff on the private covered deck.
The Seclusion: You’ll certainly feel secluded, but definitely not stranded, as the village of Okanagan Falls is only 5 minutes away, and the town of Oliver is a scenic 20-minute drive. In either of these communities, you will find all your essentials like groceries and gas.
The Lakes: Have your pick between two stunning lakes, Skaha Lake and Vaseux, as both are situated within minutes of your suite.
The Celestial Display: At Bighorn Ranch Guest House, there is virtually no light pollution, and that means that every night the sky turns into a dazzling theater of lights and a crystal clear window into the Milky Way.
